Oltenia Energy Complex (CE Oltenia) will export coal to Serbia, starting this month, once a contract is signed for a period of one year, said the head of the Mining Division of the company, Daniel Antonie, quoted by Agerpres.

According to him, every day will be delivered about 20,000 tons of coal; the agreement represents a true breath of fresh air for the unit, as workers in mines and quarries were threatened with technical unemployment due to low coal demand.

“Coal stocks are full and we wait a contract with the Serbs which I believe will be achieved, at the end of the month we begin deliveries to Serbia for a year, 20,000 tons of coal per day. This contract is a breath of fresh air for the company”, said Daniel Antonie.

He added that mining personnel will not enter into technical unemployment until the end of the year, despite previously existing discussions on this topic.
