Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced that a good part of the subsidy programs developed by the Environmental Fund Administration (AFM) will be suspended this year, with an analysis to be made in the fall for next year.
“By August 1, first of all, we will have to prioritize the projects in such a way that those that we can finance from European funds, we will ensure their financing, to expedite them, and the others, depending on the priority that we will analyze, to decide what can be financed and what cannot be financed. During July, we will close these analyses related to the prioritization of investments. A good part, for example, of the programs that are at the Environmental Fund Administration will be suspended this year, with an analysis to be made in the fall for next year, so that we can stagger our investments and also make savings on the program component,” explained Ilie Bolojan.
The Environmental Fund Administration (AFM) had announced on June 18 the suspension of the launch of all financing programs, including the launch of the Rabla session for individuals, scheduled for June 19. “The decision comes in the context of the negotiations in recent days regarding the formation of a new Government, which aims to ensure balance and stability both at the governmental level and in the management of budgetary allocations,” AFM officials said at the time.
Bolojan also stated that “everyone wants investments to continue, but there is not enough money,” with investments to be prioritized by August 1.
“We all wanted all the investments to continue. But there is not enough money for this. And then we have two possibilities: to pretend that we do not know this reality and to go until a certain point when payments will effectively no longer be possible, but without notifying the builders or doing an analysis of the investments, seeing what is financed from European funds, where we need to expedite things, increase absorption, so that we can finish our projects and noting what is not as important, what is financed from national budgets, what is not as urgent, what can enter into a form of securing, of correction that does not degrade what has been done, what does not have a very advanced stage of execution, to prioritize these things, which we will do this month and to notify the beneficiaries and builders on different programs regarding what can continue and what cannot continue, giving them the necessary time to be able to secure their works,” the PM also stated.
