Bistrita City Hall wants to build a photovoltaic park on Cocoș Hill, writes timponline.ro. It would thus become a producer and supplier of green energy to cover its expenses with its own premises, but also with schools, kindergartens and nurseries said Mayor Ioan Turc at the presentation of the draft budget.

The green energy component is very important and funded with European money, the mayor said. “The idea is to set up a photovoltaic park of the Bistrita City Hall. […] One option (for its location, editor’s note) could be on the hill area of Cocoș, where nothing can be built, another option could be on the pastures. We have had discussions on this with the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Energy. Such constructions are allowed on pastures, provided that the panel is 1 or 1.5 metres above the ground so that grazing is also possible,” said Mayor Turc.

The sum of 250,000 lei has been allocated for the preparation of documentation.

Bistrita City Hall is also considering the development of a park on the banks of the river Bistrita, at Viișoara, the “Zero Carbon Cities” project and an integrated waste management system, with a budget of 436,000 lei for the development of technical-economic documentation.
