ANRE: Developers of residential complexes will no longer transfer to the owners the expenses with electricity connection

The developers of residential complexes will no longer transfer to the owners the expenses for the connection to the electricity network of public interest necessary for the connection of their consumption places, according to a release of the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE).

ANRE approved in the meeting of the Regulatory Committee on March 10 a package of normative acts regarding the connection of household customers to the electricity networks of public interest and to the natural gas distribution system, which will allow access to natural gas and electricity to an increased number of users, is shown in the press release.

Thus, for the domestic customer type users, the concessionary distribution operators have the obligation to finance and carry out the design and execution works of the connection installation, with the subsequent recovery by the operator of these costs through the distribution tariffs.

The term for making the connection, including the reception and commissioning of the connection installation, is a maximum of 90 days from the date of obtaining the agreement/authorization for the connection installation.

Of the new provisions also benefit household customers in residential complexes, by ensuring that developers are prohibited from transferring to individual users the costs of financing the works of the public interest electricity network necessary to connect their places of consumption.

The distribution operator takes ownership, with fair compensation within the limits of efficiency, in accordance with the law, the objective of the residential complex financed by the developer, only after the total number of use facilities of individual users, end customers, put into operation at least 80% of the total number of use installations as a whole.
