AFM budget for 2026 launched for public consultation

    The draft decision on the approval of the budget of the Environmental Fund Administration (AFM) for 2026 has been launched for public consultation, Diana Buzoianu announced on Saturday, presenting the main proposed allocations for new programs.

    “Today, we launched the draft decision for the approval of the AFM budget for 2026 in public consultation! What did we propose as an allocation for new programs? 1.5 billion will be allocated for water and sewage projects! In 2026, projects that bring essential quality public services to Romanians must be prioritized. The target for 2026 is that environmental projects are no longer perceived and treated separately from local development. 400 million lei for the national battery storage program. For 2026, we are placing greater emphasis on storage solutions (batteries), not just on production. In this way, we are responding to the massive increase in the number of prosumers and the pressure placed on the national distribution network. Rabla 2026 (intended for individuals): we are allocating 300 million lei to this national program, emphasizing cars produced and assembled in Europe,” she said, according to Agerpres.

    Also, 700 million lei would be directed to the public lighting program, and 250 million lei are foreseen for the national afforestation program, which aims to reconvert unproductive lands and reduce the risk of desertification.

    According to the announcement, after the budget is approved, the next stage will be the development and adoption of improved financing guidelines compared to previous years.
