MOL Romania and the Community Foundation support the performance of 581 young athletes and artists

MOL Romania and the Community Foundation announce the results of the project competition within the 16th edition of the MOL Talent Promotion Program. Through this program, 186 projects in the fields of art and sports will receive funding worth 563,000 lei, 581 young athletes and artists becoming its direct beneficiaries. Since the first edition of this program, from 2006 until now, 3,062 young athletes and artists have received funding for their projects, the total amount allocated being 5,467,000 lei.

The Romanian team at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games included six athletes benefiting from the different editions of the MOL Talent Promotion Program: Szőcs Bernadette – table tennis, Incze Kriszta – wrestling, Robert Glință, Daniel Martin and David Popovici – swimming, Miklós Andrea – athletics. David Popovici obtained the 4th place in the 200m freestyle and the 7th place in the 100m freestyle, Szőcs Bernadette the 5th place in mixed doubles and team, Incze Kriszta and Robert Glință the 8th place in freestyle wrestling, respectively 100 meters backstroke.

“We are very proud and very happy to have reached the 16th edition of the MOL program to support young talents. The young people we have supported over the years have demonstrated their value both at the Tokyo Olympics and at various other domestic and international competitions. For us, the MOL Romania team, it is an honor that we were able to be with them from the beginning, and the fact that some of them are already part of an international elite, reconfirms the value of our program, the rigor of selection methods and fuels our energy to go further,” said Camelia Ene, Country Chairman & CEO of MOL Romania.

At this year’s edition of the MOL Talent Promotion Program, 409 projects were registered, through which 1,114 young athletes and artists requested funding totaling over 2,667,000 lei. The allocation of the fund of 563,000 lei was made following the selection made by the specialized juries in sports and art, being declared winners 186 projects, through which 581 talented young people obtain funding. The 99 sports projects are supported with a total amount of 223,000 lei, the 53 in the field of arts with 200,000 lei, and the 34 projects in the age category of over 18 years with 140,000 lei.
