Ministry of Labor: More than 1 mln. labor contracts have been suspended since the declaration of state of emergency

A number of 1,030,973 individual employment contracts have been suspended since the entry into force of the state of emergency (March 16) until now, according to Labor Inspection figures released on Thursday by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection (MMPS).

Of these, 321,014 suspended employment contracts were in the manufacturing industry, 195,438 were in wholesale and retail/ repairs of motor vehicles and motorcycles, and 119,983 came from the hotel and restaurant industry, according to Agerpres.

Another 205,318 individual employment contracts ceased, from the establishment of the state of emergency until Thursday, as follows: 39,532 contracts in the field of wholesale and retail/ repairs of motor vehicles and motorcycles, 35,342 in the manufacturing industry, and 26,967 employment contracts in field of construction.
