Rompetrol Well Services posted, in the first quarter of this year, a loss of 1.2 million lei, compared to a net profit of almost 258,000 lei in the same period last year, according to a document issued by the company to Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE).
Turnover decreased by 53.7% to 7.03 million lei. Operating income amounted to 7.05 million lei, being lower by 53.7% compared to the first three months of 2015. Operating expenses amounted to 8.66 million lei (-43.3 %) and staff cost the company more than 4.44 million lei (-21.3%).
Rompetrol Well Services offers specialized services for oil and gas wells such as: Cementing, Sand Control, Stimulation, Tester, Instrumentation wire and Tubing columns. Services are provided to operators and contractors of oil and gas, focusing on cementing, representing 62% of total revenues. Besides Romania, the company has a branch in Kazakhstan and is currently active in Central and Eastern Europe, and in Turkmenistan (for oil equipment sales).
