The representatives of the electricity distribution companies presented to the Government a request regarding the partial compensation by the state of the costs, not recognized in tariffs, which they have with the purchase of electricity necessary for their own technological consumption (CPT) of the networks, according to sources quoted by e-nergia.ro.

The proposal was made several times, and, according to sources, was reiterated at the last meeting of that inter-ministerial committee on energy issues, chaired by the prime minister himself.

Specifically, the distributors requested a scheme to compensate for the difference between the cost of purchasing energy for CPT recognized by ANRE and their actual cost of purchase. In this sense, the state budget, through the Ministry of Energy, would compensate 80% of this difference through direct payments to licensed distribution operators, with the verification by ANRE of the amounts. For the remaining 20%, the distribution companies accept the future rescheduling, through the new values of the distribution tariffs that would be approved by ANRE.

Without compensating for such costs, large companies, such as Transelectrica, are at a loss and risk not being able to access European funds, as analysts and politicians have pointed out.
