Future of utilities – more, cheaper, safer

09 Nov 2021 @ 10:00 - 13:00

Tuesday, November 9th, 2021, from 10.00 am, Energynomics invites you to an interactive conference to discover the roles that suppliers and distributors play in an energy ecosystem
dominated by the transition to decarbonization in a fast‑growing economy!

As a result of major changes to the regulatory framework and for reaching new sustainability goals, the energy industry is asked to reshape its future. New technologies help, while they raise specific challenges too. Suppliers adapt to the context of the liberalized market and introduce new behaviors in the relationship with customers. At the same time, they have to respond to the changes that influence the energy industry as a whole: local production deficit, new balancing rules, new competitors, and above all rapid increase of energy prices and their impact on vulnerable consumers. Distributors are increasingly under pressure to improve the quality of services (lower number and duration of power outages) and to expand networks. In the case of electricity, the obligation to connect prosumers and small producers of energy from renewable sources is added, while the option of using hydrogen is starting to be considered for natural gas networks.

Many of these challenges require the widespread introduction of digital solutions and the training of employees for a virtual work environment, which transforms the operating models of utility companies.

Join the conversation to discover the current trends in the utility sector in Romania and what are the challenges the companies operating in this field have to cope with!
