PSD Senator Daniel Zamfir asked Prime Minister Ludovic Orban to postpone the liberalization of utility prices through a Government decision, because “this will have extremely serious consequences”.

“I publicly ask Prime Minister Ludovic Orban to postpone the liberalization of utility prices. The Cioloş government has decided that the liberalization of utility prices should be done a year earlier than expected. We urgently request that the Prime Minister, by a Government decision, to decide to postpone the liberalization of prices as this liberalization will have extremely serious consequences,” Zamfir was quoted as saying by Agerpres.

He also announced that in the coming weeks “several important laws” will be passed in the Chamber of Deputies that have already passed the Senate and that refer to “the protection of people against the abuses of banks, NFIs, asset recovery.”

“In the coming weeks, PSD will vote in the Chamber of Deputies on the interest cap law, will vote on the law on protection of people against foreclosures and the law on the fact that the contract price for utilities and services will be expressed in lei only. The price of utilities and services will be expressed in lei,” Zamfir explained.
