Velux Group is engaging, in partnership with WWF, to cut its carbon footprint

Velux Group is committed to reducing its future carbon emissions and capturing its historic carbon footprint since the company’s inception in 1941 – a total of 5.6 million tonnes of CO2. This will be done in collaboration with WWF, through forestry projects that will address climate change, with the aim of halting habitat loss and preserving biodiversity by improving local livelihoods.

Velux has announced its new commitment to become fully carbon neutral (Lifetime Carbon Neutral) until its 100th anniversary in 2041. Through this commitment, the largest carbon footprint of the largest The world’s largest attic window manufacturer – totaling 5.6 million tonnes of CO2 emitted since its inception in 1941 – will be captured through WWF (World Wide Fund for Forest Conservation) projects. Looking to the future, the Velux Group is also committed to dramatically reduce the company’s carbon emissions and its value chain, in line with the Paris Agreement on the most ambitious action to reduce global warming by 1.5°C.

The Integral Neutral Carbon Footprint is a new commitment initiated by the Velux Group and developed in conjunction with WWF International to take responsibility for both past and future carbon emissions. This innovative commitment will capture the historic carbon footprint while preserving the pristine natural forests and wildlife around the world for present and future generations.
