Transgaz signed the MoU on the development of gas networks in Eastern Europe

Transgaz has signed the Memorandum of Understanding on the Partnership for the Development of Natural Gas Networks in Eastern Europe (EE-NGP), according to a statement from the company, submitted to the Bucharest Stock Exchange.

The Memorandum was signed by all the entities involved in the project.

EE-NGP is established by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Energy Association of the United States of America (USEA), ministries and operators of natural gas transmission systems (TSOs) in Eastern Europe, to ensure a sustainable institutional capacity in view of developing and using the first common transport planning models in the region and accelerating the development of natural gas transport infrastructure in Eastern Europe, according to Agerpres.

EE-NGP’s mission is to support the following objectives: to promote regional cooperation in the planning of natural gas networks among ministries and TSOs in Eastern Europe; improving the capacity of the ministries and the operators of the transport systems to develop mathematical models for forecasting and simulating the internal gas networks, interconnection pipes and storage depots; supporting regional harmonization of natural gas transportation planning methodologies and operational principles.
