Transgaz and Itochu Corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Friday, 26 July, which establishes a joint collaboration for projects in the gas infrastructure sector in Europe.

The memorandum, valid for two years, to which Romgaz will also join, was signed in view of Transgaz’s intention to expand its activity in the European energy infrastructure sector, as well as the fact that Itochu has the experience and ability to evaluate and develop environmentally-friendly infrastructure projects in the gas sector in Europe, according to Transgaz officials cited by financialintelligence.ro.

“The Memorandum between Transgaz and Japan’s Itochu Corporation allows us to have access to major European gas infrastructure projects, financing and investments in the field of chemistry, petrochemistry and energy, with an important partner with a very good reputation with us much experience and the ability to evaluate and develop these projects,” said Ion Sterian, Transgaz general manager.
