Three turbines and two generators, totaling 420 tons, left on Thursday from Constanta port to Iernut (Mureș). The 587 kilometers will be completed in 6 days, with the support of the road police to ensure safe crossings in narrow areas. The machines will be installed in the second part of the year at the new Iernut thermal power plant, Romgaz’ main investment project.

The first turbine (90 tons) is already at Iernut, but before the main machinery is installed, many other stages are scheduled, including: finishing the foundation, construction of the turbine hall and electrical building, installation of the heat recovery boiler.

A 268 million euros worth investment, funded by the company’s own funds and the National Investment Plan, the Iernut plant is built by Duro Felguera (Spain) and Romelectro (Romania), as a turnkey project to be completed in 2020.

200 million lei were paid in 2017, and the estimated budget planned for 2018 is 856 million lei.
