The aid scheme for SMEs should become operational next week, with banks having time until Monday to register, said Finance Minister Florin Cîţu on Thursday at the beginning of the Government meeting.

“Yesterday I spoke with the director general of FNGCIMM (National Fund for Credit Guarantee for SMEs). I saw that the television advertising contracts are already in place. The scheme should be functional in a few days. Now I think that the banks are registered in the scheme. They have until Monday to register. It should become operational next week for the SME Invest,” explained the Minister of Finance, according to Agerpres.

The National Credit Guarantee Fund for SMEs announced Thursday that it is launching, as a matter of emergency, the IMM Invest Romania Program, which allows SMEs affected by the crisis to provide their liquidity for the current activity or for investments, by accessing secured financing.

Interested credit institutions will send to the Guarantee Fund and the Ministry of Finance the application for enrollment in the program by April 16, 2020, the level of the total costs they apply for, as well as the estimated value of the financing for 2020.
