The “Energy Efficient House” program, accessed by over 6,650 Romanians so far

More than 6,650 Romanians have so far enrolled in the “Energy Efficient House” program to take possession of the 15,000-euro premium for housing insulation, according to data released Friday on Facebook by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Forests (MMAP).

According to the quoted source, in the first four minutes from the start of the program – on September 15 – 340 files were registered in the online application.

So far, 6,657 Romanians have registered in the first session of this program, and registrations continue until reaching 150% of the allocated budget, respectively 430 million lei.

“We are glad that Romania is starting to think about housing in terms of energy efficiency. We want this program to reduce energy consumption in Romanian homes and greenhouse gas emissions,” the ministry said, according to Agerpres.

Homeowners across the country can benefit from an energy premium of up to 15,000 euros (approximately 70,000 lei), to increase their homes with an energy class.

The energy premium covers 60% of the value of each investment and can be used for the installation of insulating windows, roof insulation, exterior walls, installation of more efficient power plants, of solar panels, ventilation systems, LED lighting fixtures, motion sensors, new taps and pipes.
