The DAM price of electricity on Monday was over 25% higher than the regional levels

The price of energy in Romania on the Day Ahead Market was on Monday the highest in the region, at a difference of over 25% compared to other countries with which Romania is coupled, according to data posted on the website of the market operator OPCOM. The situation maintained on Tuesday, but the price differential in Hungary fell sharply to around 2%.

Thus, for Monday deliveries in Romania, the energy was traded at EUR 83.10 per MWh, while in Hungary the price was EUR 65.77 per MW, in Slovakia – EUR 63.74 per MWh, and in Czech Republic – 61.68 euro per MWh. The difference between the price in Romania (the highest) and the Czech Republic (the lowest) was 36%, according to OPCOM.

In lei, the average energy price in Romania was on Monday at 387.64 lei per MWh, with a maximum of 559 lei per MWh between 17:00 and 18:00. For Tuesday deliveries, the average market price for the next day is 367.72 lei per MWh, down by about 5%.
