E.ON Energie Romania will build a photovoltaic power plant in TeraPlast Industrial Park, part of a strategic partnership estimated at 1.9 million euros.

The construction of the photovoltaic power plant has as its main objective the distributed production of electricity from renewable sources, using the solar energy and supplying the produced energy to the consumers connected to the power plant, states a press release.

E.ON will install solar power systems on the roof of 13 TeraPlast production halls and buildings that will enable the company to generate its own electricity from renewable sources. In this way, the company will reduce CO2 emissions to 600,000 tons per year in the long run. The energy savings of TeraPlast are estimated at up to 11.45% of the total energy required today.

“TeraPlast pursues ambitious goals for business sustainability and we are proud of this partnership. E.ON is implementing photovoltaic solutions to customers interested in energy efficiency and reduced carbon footprint, international know-how guaranteeing the best possible result for customers and climate”, said Dan Morari, CEO of E.ON Energie Romania.

“After last year TeraPlast invested in the PVC recycling section, this year we start the strategic partnership with E.ON. For TeraPlast, more than simply raw material, electricity is the main resource we consume in our products. From this point of view, the concern to produce at least some of this energy in a sustainable way is natural and coincides with our desire to grow healthy and responsible”, says Alexandru Stânean, TeraPlast’s General Manager.

E.ON Energie Romania is one of the most important players on the natural gas and electricity market in Romania, and TeraPlast is one of the most important Romanian manufacturers of building materials, installations and fittings.
