Six more months, at least for the new feasibility study for reactors 3 and 4 in Cernavodă

Energonuclear put up for auction, in the Electronic Public Procurement System, “Updating the Feasibility Study for the execution of the Project of Units 3 and 4 Cernavoda NPP”, wrote e-nergia.ro. The project has an estimated cost of 1 million lei, and is to be executed in 6 months. The consultant must also provide an analysis regarding the construction of a single nuclear unit.

The Minister of Economy and Energy, Virgil Popescu, previously stated for Energynomics that Romanian NECP includes the option that a single reactor wil be constructed, until 2030.

Consultants interested in updating the feasibility study must submit a bid by 11 August. The award criterion is the best value for money, where 40% means the price and 60% the technical component

In the middle of this month, the Prime Minister Ludovic Orban ordered the establishment of the Strategic Coordination Committee for the implementation of the Units 3 and 4 Cernavoda NPP Project. The committee will be led by the Minister of Economy, Virgil Popescu. The advisory body also includes Florin Cîţu, Minister of Public Finance, Cosmin Marinescu, Presidential Adviser and Ionel Dancă, Head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.
