Romgaz production increases in Q3, still decline at nine months


Romgaz reported an increase in production in the third quarter of the year (Q3), but for the first nine months, extraction is down sharply, by minus 19%, according to

Romgaz’s methane gas production was of 952 million cubic meters in the third quarter of the year, slightly higher than in the previous quarter (883 million cubic meters), but decreasing both compared to the same period last year (1.25 billion), as well as compared to the forecasted production – Romgaz shows a decrease of 23.8% in this last chapter.

In the first nine months of the year, Romgaz’s gas production was of almost 3.2 billion cubic meters, 19% lower than in the first three quarters of 2019, and also 19% lower compared to the forecast.

For comparison, the natural gas production of the other big producer, Petrom, decreased by 5% in Q3 of this year compared to the same period last year and was of 1.02 billion cubic meters, so more than that of Romgaz.

It is the second consecutive quarter in which Romgaz extracted less than Petrom.
