Romelectro and Electromontaj SA announced they won the tender , for the modernization of the Transelectrica’s Smârdan power station, as a general contractor. The total value of the works is over 23 million euros.

The refurbishment of the 400/110 kV Smârdan station is aimed at optimizing the primary electrical system, modernizing the primary and secondary equipment, ensuring the remote control of the whole station at the level of the Telecontrol Center of the Constanta Transport Branches and covering the central and territorial dispatching requirements, which will lead to increased operating safety, reduced maintenance costs, local and remote monitoring of all equipment.

These strengthen the position of the ROMELECTRO Group as the most important general contractor of energy projects in Romania. We are pleased to note that larger energy projects have begun to emerge at home, where we want to get involved with our specialists, as they have extensive expertise in the energy field, from design, to turnkey implementation”, said Romelectro’s management, in a press release.

The refurbishment works will be carried out in 16 phases, starting with the 400kV station and continuing with the 110kV and 20kV stations, with no long-term interruption of the existing installations.
