The three most important risks for Romanian companies are the pandemic, the interruption of activity and the legislative unpredictability, according to the conclusions of the Allianz Risk Barometer 2021 research, published on Tuesday.

On the other hand, globally, in 2021 the COVID-19 pandemic is the number 1 threat in 16 countries and is among the top three risks on all continents and in 35 countries out of the 38 analyzed by Allianz.

According to the quoted source, the deterioration of market conditions (4th place, plus 19%) rises to the top of risks in 2021, thus reflecting the expectations regarding the increase of the number of insolvencies as a result of the pandemic.

According to Euler Hermes, a commercial credit insurance company, the peak of insolvencies is expected in 2021, and the global insolvency index could reach a record level and increase by 35% by the end of this year, with maximum increases expected in the US, Brazil, China and major European countries, according to Agerpres.

As for the situation in Central and Eastern Europe, legislative changes remain a real concern for companies, ranking in the top three risks in countries such as Romania, Poland, Bulgaria and Hungary. In fact, in our country, on the podium of corporate risks we find: the pandemic, the interruption of activity and the legislative unpredictability.

Overall, about 59% of Allianz participants said the pandemic was the main cause of the outage this year, followed by cyber incidents (46%), natural disasters and fires/explosions (about 30% each).
