Romania had, in August, a status of net electricity importer from Hungary as a result of the decrease of hydro, nuclear and wind energy production, which reached the monthly minimum of the year, below 3,000 MW, data from the Hungarian market regulator (MEKH) reveals. According to MEKH data, Romania was in the position of net exporter in relation to the neighboring country in only 3 days of August, according to profit.ro.

In August, under conditions of low hydro flow and against the background of reduced wind energy production, the residual demand in Romania rose to a characteristic level of the winter months, despite the lower consumption in the summer months, which led to the price increase in the spot market and the position of net importer of Romania in relation to Hungary.
