Romania, among the EU countries with average economic growth in Q3

Romania was among the states of the European Union with an average economic growth in the third quarter (Q3) of 2019 compared to the previous three months, shows the estimation published on Thursday by the European Statistical Office (Eurostat).

The European Union registered an economic growth of 0.3% in the third quarter of 2019, after an advance of 0.2% in the previous three months, while the expansion of the euro area remained at 0.2%, similar to that of the period April – June 2019.

All EU countries reported quarterly GDP growth in the third quarter of 2019, compared to the previous three months. Among the EU member states, Poland (1.3%), Hungary (1.1%) and Estonia (1%) registered the most significant advance of the economy, followed by Bulgaria, Croatia and Slovenia (all with 0.8 %), Cyprus, Latvia and Finland (all with 0.7%), Greece and Romania (both with 0.6%). The lowest growth rate was observed in Germany, Italy and Austria (all with 0.1%), according to Agerpres.

At an annual rate, the European Union and the euro area registered an economic growth of 1.4% and 1.2%, respectively, in the third quarter of 2019, after a similar advance of 1.4% and respectively 1.2%, in the previous three months.
