A document of PM Ludovic Orban’s Control Corps, which arrived on the Prime Minister’s table on August 4, shows how Transelectrica heads favored Smart SA in an operation that lasted years and took tens of millions of euro from the state budget, according to Libertatea.

The report of the Prime Minister’s Control Corps shows how a series of refurbishment works from Transelectrica were not carried out even 5 years after the signing of the contract, and their cost increased considerably. The document shows that since 2017, the members of the company’s Supervisory Board have been appointed temporarily, with mandates of two or four months each. These temporary appointments were also reflected in the Transelectrica board of directors, “having as effect the management of the company without the existence of a management plan assumed as a component of the administration plan”.

From the analysis of three contracts “it was found that the decisions of the members of the CNTEE Transelectrica SA Management Board regarding the development and termination of the modernization contracts of the 3 stations, as well as the inability of SMART SA to complete the contracts assumed following the procurement procedures in which it participated, led to the situation that, after 5 years, the modernization process of Dumbrava, Râureni and Arefu stations will not be completed, in the context of the importance of the 3 stations within the National Energy System,” shows the synthesis of the report of the Prime Minister’s Control Corps.
