
Professional History
Virgil Musatescu has over 40 years experience in all aspects related to energy sector. He is a professor in the Technical University of Bucharest, Romania and has got two PhD's: one in energy and the other in economics. In his long career, he fulfilled important tasks as: Director General for Energy, Oil, and Gas and Secretary of State in the Ministry of Industry, member of the Board for RENEL, the Romanian electricity monopoly at that time, project officer for European Bank's Romania office being involved in the most important loan provided to Romanian electricity sector, US-Romania energy bilateral programs coordinator as US Agency for International Development energy advisor. In present, Dr. Musatescu is the member of the Board of the Romanian Energy Efficiency Fund helping finance of energy efficiency projects and president of Romanian Association for Energy Policies, a non-for-profit professional association. He also is an international consultant with experience in Balkan region. Virgil Musatescu is author and co-author of 26 books and a big number of articles in energy sector.
