Petrom, the leader of the fuel distribution market, on Tuesday reduced the prices of fuels sold in its own network of petrol stations with 0.10 lei per liter.

This new price reduction causes gasoline to drop significantly below the 5 lei per liter threshold in many stations in the company’s network, according to e-nergia.ro.

For example, at the station on the Alexandria Road in Bucharest, traditionally the cheapest in the Capital, standard gasoline costs 4.86 lei per liter and diesel costs 5.05 lei per liter. Similar prices, close to the threshold of 4.8 lei for petrol, can be seen at distribution stations in Moldova (Focsani, Bacau), Ialomița or Covasna.

Petrom has lowered prices as a result of falling oil prices.
