On Friday, the Prime Minister of Romania, Ludovic Orban, warn the Moldovan authorities not to politicize the issue of the Ungheni-Chisinau gas pipeline, which was built on the basis of a project fully financed by the Romanian state, according to Agerpres.

Present at the inauguration of the Craiova-Segarcea gas pipeline section, related to stage I of the Craiova-Segarcea-Calafat transmission pipeline, Orban stressed that the Ungheni-Chisinau gas pipeline is a “soul investment” of Romania.

“These are extremely important investments. Some of that have been completed, such as a soul investment of Romania, namely the Ungheni-Chisinau gas pipeline, which has been completed and for which I congratulate Mr. General Manager Sterian (Ion Sterian) and at the same time I warn the temporary authorities from the Republic of Moldova not to try to politicize this issue. It is an investment made by the Romanian state, through a Romanian state company, an investment that was financed by us and which aims to offer the people of Bessarabia an alternative source of natural gas supply,” said Orban, according to financialintelligence.ro.
