OMV Petrom, the largest energy company in Southeast Europe, is pleased to confirm that it has been selected as the winner of the open international tender, organized by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, for the Second offshore perimeter.

Peter Zeilinger, Member of the Board of Directors responsible for Upstream activity: “We are continuing our plans to expand our upstream activities in the Black Sea region. This is another important step, following the signing of a contract for entry into the Han Asparuh exploration license in Bulgaria’s offshore area. It is a natural continuation of our experience of over 40 years in the Romanian waters of the Black Sea.”

The perimeter will be officially leased only if the negotiation of a production sharing contract is successfully completed. In this case, OMV Petrom will obtain the rights to carry out oil and gas exploration activities in the second perimeter, located in the continental shelf and in the offshore economic zone of Georgia, in the Black Sea.
