In the last week, the concentrations of all pollutants monitored were well below the limit values. Every day, there were some periods of hourly growth of PM10 and NO2 particles, in the morning, from 09:00 to 11:00, respectively in the evening, from 20:00 to 22:00, but the amplitude of these increases was well below normal values.

After evaluating the data, the hypothesis that the main source of air pollution in the Bucharest agglomeration is road traffic is reconfirmed. When traffic is reduced, quality indices show very good values, according to the Ministry of Environment, quoted by to financialintelligence.ro.

On Monday, at the station of the Military Circle, at 11:00, the PM10 concentration was of 17.95 micrograms, close to the values recorded by the monitoring station in Fundata, Braşov county, or that of Semenic, Caraş-Severin county , both located at the top of the mountain. For comparison, on Monday, March 3rd, at the same station, and at the same time, the concentrations recorded were of 130.64 micrograms.

“We even have a premiere. From the analysis of the specialists, such values have never been registered in a working Monday, since the National Air Quality Monitoring Network was put into operation,” the Ministry says.
