Economy Minister Niculae Bădălău met on July 9 with representatives of Delek Drilling, a company that provides over 60% of Israel’s natural gas needs, the main company that explores, produces and sells natural gas and condensate gas, both onshore and offshore.

The meeting was also attended by businessman Ioan Niculae, the owner of Interagro, according to financialintelligence.ro.

“The meetings at the Ministry of Economy headquarters with Delek Drilling representatives were focused on the subject of gas imports from Israel. In this context was also present Mr. Ioan Niculae, who is interested in importing gas from Israel and paying the tariffs related to the transport of gas”, say ministry officials.

Delek Drilling is an important producer in the energy sector in the eastern Mediterranean Sea, extracting gas from the Tamar, Leviathan (largest deep water discovery at that time) or Aphrodite (Cyprus) areas.
