Romania’s Energy Strategy has started the road to the adoption by law of the Parliament, not by Government Decision, says Andrei Maioreanu, former Secretary of State in the Ministry of Energy.

He wrote on Facebook: “I have said it countless times and I repeat it: Romania needs an Energy Strategy as soon as possible. A document assumed by the Romanian state to set the benchmarks for the development (not stagnation or destruction!) of the energy sector. At the end of last year, the Energy Strategy for 2019-2030, with the perspective of 2050, was in the phase of cross-border debate.

“The only solution for the Energy Strategy to become functional is its adoption by the vote of the PMs. To be assumed by all political players. Therefore, we prepared the documentation for such a law and, with the support of our parliamentary colleagues from PSD Gorj, we managed to put this bill on the Senate’s agenda. The opinion of the specialized commissions is still needed. Romania’s interest is to invest in increasing the energy field,” said Maioreanu, according to financialintelligence.ro.

Thus, at the end of May, several PSD parliamentarians submitted a legislative proposal for amending and supplementing the Law on Electricity and Natural Gas no. 123/2012, requesting the debate in the emergency procedure.
