On 26 March, energynomics.ro organizes Spring Cocktail 2015 – the meeting of the Top Decision Makers from the Romanian energy market. With this ocasion, we will launch the first issue of energynomics.ro Magazine in 2015 – the premium printed publication for the Romanian energy community.

Mihaela Cârstei, member in the Advisory Board of the Energy Policy Group, Michael Probst, Business Development Manager for Utilities EMEA/AP from SAS and Prof. Dr. Jonas Puck, WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business) are the three top speakers who confirmed their participation at the 2015 edition of Spring Cocktail.

Mihaela-Carstea-timbruMihaela Cârstei is an energy and economic policy advisor to the energy industry. Previously, Ms. Carstei was the Acting Director for the Energy and Environment Program at the Atlantic Council in Washington DC, where she concentrated on the geopolitics of energy, energy security, energy technology, and climate change. In her speech, she will present her views on the European geopolitical context due to violence in Ukraine and the foreseeable trends for the energy sector.

The Energy Policy Group

The Energy Policy Group (EPG) is a Bucharest-based non-profit, independent think-tank specializing in energy policy, market analytics and energy strategy, grounded in February 2014. EPG’s regional focus is Eastern Europe and the Black Sea Basin, yet its analyses are informed by wider trends and processes at global and EU levels.

EPG promotes a technologically advanced, secure, environmentally friendly and socially acceptable energy system. Although pro-business, EPG’s views are self-standing and science-based. Michael Probst

Michael Probst supports the Center of Excellence focusing on Energy companies, which serves customers in more than 40 countries. Probst operates as domain expert across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific regions. His main area of focus is how BigData Analytics is applied in the Energy industry.

Before joining SAS in, Probst spent nearly five years working for Landis+Gyr as project lead for introducing and marketing specific smart metering and smart solutions. He effectively interacted with various utility customers in Sweden, Finland and Norway regarding their smart metering installations and developing further scenarios for usage of data. This included program management, the coordination of technology for smart metering and its deployment into the field. He was also proactive in engaging with various interest groups in smart metering including ESMIG and other industry organizations.

Prof. Dr. Jonas Puck  introduces WU Executive Energy Expert – 2015 edition

In a recent interview for energynomics.ro, Prof. Dr. Jonas Puck mentioned the key trends for this year in regard with the energy demand and supply in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa).

“In brief, I expect stronger demand for oil due to the low oil prices and subsequently a reduction of speed in the efforts to rely less on oil specifically in the transportation industry. Further, we see continuing substitution of gas by coal as a consequence of high prices. Nevertheless, I still expect renewables to become more relevant nearly across all EMEA countries albeit with slightly reduced pace”.

Over 100 professionals active from the energy companies in Romania will attend this evening event, where networking and exchange of ideas will be catalyzed by two speakers, both managers with rich experience and good knowledge of the local business environment.

An additional contribution to the success of the evening will come from the fresh cocktails to be tested at the end of the presentations. On March 26th, from 6 PM, for three hours, Cesianu – Racoviţă Palace provides us with an eclectic and sophisticated ambience, given the stucco and wall paintings in oil and numerous works of art housed here.

Spring Cocktail 2014

Around 100 invitees attended to the Spring Cocktail 2014 – the top executives’ reunion for the Romanian energy market. Having Milan Kalal’s, senior analist at  IDC Energy Insights, presentation as a trigger, the guests discussed the tendencies in the local and regional industry on the background of European change of paradigm and political turmoil in Ukraine. More details here.
