President Klaus Iohannis said on Thursday, referring to information about Exxon’s intention to sell its stake in the Black Sea, possibly to a Russian company, that it is a matter of concern to the authorities, that the information is not real and that any transaction is made under the law.
“The sale of Exxon’s participation in the Black Sea is a matter of concern to us. This information that is circulating in the last days is not real, I don’t think we can talk about such a possible transaction, but it also concerns us and Romania will have a hard word to say here,” said Iohannis, according to news.ro .
The president also said that the TurkStream gas pipeline, inaugurated on Wednesday by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, which will transport natural gas from Russia to Turkey and Europe, is not a problem for Romania. “The supply of Romania is not a problem,” the president said.
