Insolvencies, down by more than 27% in the first 9 months

The number of companies and authorized natural persons that entered insolvency decreased by 27.11% in the first nine months of 2019, compared to the similar period of the previous year, to 4,434 insolvencies, it appears from the data published on the website of the National Trade Register Office (ONRC).

Most companies and PFAs that have entered insolvency were registered in Bucharest, respectively 766, a decrease by 34.36% compared to the same period of 2018. On the next places in the insolvency hierarchy are Bihor counties – with 358 insolvencies (- 13.53), Timiş – 243 (-24.77%) and Constanta – 219 (-30.91%), according to Agerpres.

By activity areas, between January and September, the largest number of insolvencies was registered in the wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, respectively 1,385 (minus 27.6%), in construction – 663 (-29.39%), in manufacturing – 525 (-28.77%) and in hotels and restaurants – 343 (-25, 92%).
