Industry revenue fell 14% in the first six months, energy industry – decline of more than 30%

Total industry turnover (internal market and external market), in nominal terms, decreased by 14% in the first six months compared to the same period in 2019, due to the decrease of the extractive industry (-15.2%) and the industry processing (-14%), according to data published on Wednesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

By major industrial groups, decreases in turnover were registered in the following sectors: energy industry (-31.5%), capital goods industry (-21.2%), intermediate goods industry (-9.0%), industry durable goods (-6.9%) and the current goods industry (-2.9%).

In June 2020 compared to the same month of 2019, the turnover in the industry decreased as a whole by 10.2%, as a result of the decline registered in the manufacturing industry (-10.3%) and in the extractive industry (-6.4% ), according to Agerpres.

On the large industrial groups, there were decreases: energy industry (-38.5%), capital goods industry (-15.4%), intermediate goods industry (-4.2%) and current use goods industry (-3, 9%). The durable goods industry grew by 14.1%.

In June 2020 compared to the previous month, the turnover in the industry increased, in total, by 20.1% due to the growth registered in the manufacturing industry (+ 20.7%) and in the extractive industry (+ 0.2%). On the large industrial groups, increases were registered: the durable goods industry (+ 40.8%), the capital goods industry (+ 33.5%), the energy industry (+ 18.4%), the current goods industry (+ 14.2%) and the intermediate goods industry (+ 10.7%).
