Ciolos Government received 2 billion euros in European funds after the closure of the 2007-2013 Programs and it predicts the total in 2016 will be 3.2 billion euros, says the Minister of European Funds, Cristian Ghinea.

In a Facebook posting, Ghinea extracted some of the ideas in the recently adopted governmental Memorandum. The document summarizes the budgetary projections from the Management Authorities (MAs), as they will be sent to the European Commission.

“This government has already brought the country 2 billion euros after the closure of the 2007-2013 Programs. In this memorandum, we have projected the figure for the whole year 2016: 3.2 billion euros (to be exact: 3.296.760,115 euros), “said Ghinea.

The Ministry of European Funds stressed out that the ministry has developed a simplified procedure for designation (accreditation) for some Managing Authorities for the 2014-2020 Programs, in order to speed up the transmission of payment requests. “Due to this, money will enter the country starting this year. Specifically 136.848.561 euros for POAT, POAD and POCA (the technical assistance programs, humanitarian and administrative capacity), “says Ghinea. The quoted official also mentioned some negotiations for finding ways to access the European funds, through which the procedure for the Operational Programme Human Capital (OP CU) could also be simplified. This could increase the total amounts raised in 2016, based on the 2014-2020 Programs.

The Minister also referred to the designation process (accreditation) which will be completed this year and will allow Romania to collect 3.6 billion euros in 2017, after the accreditation of all the MAs.
