At 10 days after the notification of public opinion by the Intelligent Energy Association, regarding the behavior of suppliers not to inform household consumers about the right to renegotiate until July 1, 2020 the prices they will pay after the liberalization of the gas market, there are only 17% of current suppliers who have not informed their customers, according to an analysis conducted by the Intelligent Energy Association (AEI).

According to the centralized data of AEI, on 14.05.2020 – 83% of those who supplied gas to household consumers did not notify their customers about the total liberalization of the natural gas market from July 1, 2020. At 10 days away, on 24.05 .2020, 17% of suppliers continue not to notify their customers that they can negotiate their gas price.

Following the intensification of debates in the media about the need to obtain a Fair Gas Price, the number of household consumers who found out about the liberalization of the gas market this summer has increased significantly, from about 5% 10 days ago, to about 25% at present.

“If 10 days ago (14.05.2020) the offers proposed to household consumers after July 1, 2020 had an average price 13% higher than the prices in existing contracts, the current offers (24.05.2020) to consumers have an average price 1% higher than prices in existing contracts; the current offers proposed to domestic customers, have an average price of about 18% higher than the average price estimated by AEI as being correct at this moment on the gas market,” the association shows.
