The 2% contribution to coal-fired power generators will be eliminated, with the Competition Council’s approval, Energy minister Anton Anton said a few hours ago.

“(Contribution of) 2% is removed for coal, but gas prices remain the same,” Anton said, asked what provisions in the energy sector will change in GEO 114/2018.

He added that there is an approval of the Competition Council in this respect, according to Agerpres.

“We have an opinion from the Competition Council. In addition to the exception we have had so far, for producers of heat for the population, we have also introduced coal based power producers,” Anton added.

Coal energy producers are the Oltenia Energy Complex and the Hunedoara Energy Complex, both owned by the state via ministry of Energy.
