Energy Community celebrated the winners of the 5th edition of the energynomics Awards

The 5th edition of the energynomics Awards for excellence in energy celebrated its winners! Once again, the communication platform energynomics.ro awarded the most meritorious companies, projects and personalities in the Romanian energy industry. Varinia Radu and Iulian Harpa, from the publisher Wing Media Energy Consulting, opened the Gala for energy, held in the Marble Hall of the National Military Center, in Bucharest.

Two keynote speakers had discourses on 2017 results and hot topics for the next year: Andrei Maioreanu – State Secretary with the Ministry of Energy, and Abigail Rupp, Deputy Chief of Mission (US Embassy in Romania).

Central moment of the evening was the celebration of the winners of energynomics Awards for each of the 9 categories. This year’s Jury members were: Zoltan Nagy-Bege (vice-president of ANRE), Elena Popescu (general director, Ministry of Energy), Vasile Iuga (independent expert), Valeriu Binig (partner EY România), Ionuţ Purica (Romanian Academy), Alexandru Pătruţi (counselor CNR-CME), Radu Dudău (co-founder & director EPG), Sorin Elisei (manager Deloitte România).

Corporate Social Responsibility – OMV Petrom

The award for Corporate Social Responsibility went to OMV Petrom, for “Vocational Romania”, a CSR program started in 2015, as a one-time project responding to a business need, and having reached this year into a wide program of support for the vocational and technical education in Romania.. Other nominated companies were CE Oltenia, CEZ România, Enel România, Engie România and Romgaz.

Energy efficiency – Lisscom Brașov

for Efficiency and Optimization of Thermal Energy in Public Buildings in Cluj-Napoca

The system is a SMART CITY application because the area of use covers the entire city, with the main goal of making public heating more efficient, which also leads to a reduction of electricity consumption and a significant reduction in the general administration costs, service and maintenance, due to the unique coordination of the dispatcher and the use of minimal technical, material and human means. Other nominated companies at this category were ATREA, Scandinavian Development, Schneider Electric, Stratum Enclosures.

Deal of the Year – Electrica SA

The award for Deal of the Year went to Electrica SA for the acquisition of shares in Electrica subsidiaries from Fondul Proprietatea. Other nominated companies at this category were Premier Energy SRL, Transeastern Power.

Financing of the Year – Green Fiber International

The award for Financing of the Year went to Green Fiber International, for the 7.5 million euro loan from EIB to finance a recycling and circular economy project that will create 280 jobs and process over 50,000 tons of waste per year. Other nominations at this category were Expert Petroleum, Kerui Group, Transgaz.

Best Newcomer – Rottco Consult

The award for Deal of the Year was awarded to Rottco Consult for the Synergy project of interconnecting the Romanian independent fuel stations in a nationwide and interactive network. Other nominated companies at this category were E.ON România, Kerui, Ringhel Team, Sand Hill Petroleum România.

Executive of the Year – Petre Stroe, MET Energy România

The award for the Executive of the Year went this year to Mr. Petre Stroe, CEO of MET Energy România, for the management of the merger between MET Trade SRL and MET Energy Marketing SRL (Repower). Other nominated executive was Sorin Boza, President of the Directorate at Oltenia Energy Complex, for bringing of CE Oltenia among profitable companies.

Outstanding development – Romgaz

The Outstanding development award went to Romgaz SA, for the discovery of the Caragele deposits, the largest on-shore gas field discovered over the last 30 years in România. The works program in 2017 included the drilling of six wells with an investment value of about 40 million euro. Future exploration efforts are currently focused on planning and drilling new wells worth 100 million euros, to confirm and potentially increase the volume of the estimated resource. The Award was received by Mr. Ispasian Dincă, director of Târgu Mureş branch of Romgaz. Other nominated organizations at this category were BRM – Bursa Română de Mărfuri, CE Oltenia, Conpet SA, Enevo Group, Hidroelectrica.

Lifetime Achievement Award – Mircea Eremia

The Lifetime Achievement Award went to Professor Emerit Doctor Engineer Mircea Eremia.

Young Energy Professional – Mihai Bălan, ICSI Râmnicu-Vâlcea

Mihai Balan (ICSI Râmnicu-Vâlcea) was rewarded for his work and achievements in the field of energy storage technologies. Other nominated young professionals were Ionuț Predoiu (CE Oltenia), Maria-Ruxandra Luca (Faculty of Power Engineering, University Politehnica of Bucharest), Mihai Marcolț (Transelectrica), Oana Ijdelea (Black Sea Oil&Gas).
