Elena Doina Dascălu is the new chairman of Electrica’s Board of Directors

Elena Doina Dascălu was elected as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Electrica SA, for a one-year mandate, at the Board meeting on May 14, 2018, writes a press release from the company.

The Board of Directors of Electrica SA is composed of seven members: Elena Doina Dascălu, Gicu Iorga, Ramona Ungur, Valentin Radu, Arielle Malard De Rothschild, Bogdan Iliescu and Willem Jan Antoon Henri Schoeber.

During the period 1980-1997, Doina Dascălu occupied different positions within the Ministry of Public Finance and the Romanian Court of Accounts, while from 1997 until 2001 she was general manager of the General Direction for Indirect Taxation Legislation and was the Deputy Secretary General of the Department for Tax Policy and Income Management, within the Ministry of Finance.

During the period 2001–2005, Doina Dascălu was successively appointed as Parliamentary expert and Parliamentary advisor within the Chamber of Deputies – the Commission for Economic Policy, Reform and Privatization. From 2005 until 2008 she was Secretary of State with the Ministry of Public Finances – the Budget Department.

In October 2008, Doina Dascălu was appointed by the Romanian Parliament as Account Adviser and Vice-President of the Romanian Court of Accounts for a 9-year mandate.

Currently, she holds the position of State Councillor in the Prime Minister’s apparatus, being a member of Electrica’s Board of Directors since October 2017.
