E.ON implements energy efficient public lighting solutions in 27 localities

So far, E.ON Energie Romania has entered into partnerships with 10 town halls in Arad, Timiș, Maramureș, Neamț and Suceava counties, through which 27 localities will benefit from turnkey solutions for modern public lighting, based on high-performance LED technology. high energy.

Within the projects with a total value of over 1 million euros, will be installed about 4,300 lighting fixtures for both street and indoor lighting in schools, kindergartens, gyms, cultural centers and town halls. The systems will ensure a saving of 50-60% on electricity consumption and implicitly the reduction of bills for local administrative units.

“Our solutions can bring savings to the local budget of thousands or tens of thousands of euros annually. These are part of our smart village concept, which also includes photovoltaic generation and electric mobility solutions, a concept we want to develop at national level”, says Cătălin Iordache, General Manager of E.ON Energie România.

At this moment, in 19 of the 27 localities the works have been completed, following that, until the beginning of next year, the lighting systems with LED technology will be functional in the other 8 localities as well.

The first project started in 2018 in partnership with Frumușeni City Hall (Arad County), which became an E.ON smart village, and continued with Sântana, Fântânele, Zăbrani, Beliu and Ususau City Halls, also in Arad County, Sânandrei (Timiș), Târgu-Lăpuș (Maramureș), Tașca (Neamț) and Berchișești (Suceava).

E.ON provided partner local authorities with turnkey projects, which included the preparation of technical documentation and obtaining approvals and authorizations, as well as support for financing the investment for a period of up to 5 years.

The benefits of public lighting systems with LED technology also include reduced operational and maintenance costs, longer-lasting lamps, reliable, durable luminaires with high protection against environmental factors, improved light quality, reduced impact on the environment and last but not least the reduction of carbon emissions.

E.ON’s expertise in efficient lighting solutions is not limited to public systems, the company has so far completed 18 intelligent lighting projects with LED technology dedicated to companies in various sectors of the economy, especially for those with industrial spaces, logistics, storage or for raising birds and animals, but also offices.
