E.ON Energie Romania told energynomics.ro that it resumed the supply of natural gas to Colterm, the provider of thermal services in Timisoara, starting with the 14th of September.

The resumption of supply takes place “as a result of the assumption by the Timisoara City Hall of a payment to the heating company, consisting of the remaining amount of the payment installments, according to the tripartite payment and guarantee agreement. On the basis of the commitment, the arrears will be paid to the supplier until Monday, September 17, a.m., 15:00,” E.ON officials said.

E.ON Energie Romania had to shut down the supply of natural gas delivered to Colterm on Thursday, September 13, 2004, due to non-compliance with the payment agreement, officials also said.

“E.ON Energie Romania has fulfilled all contractual obligations assumed by Colterm S.A. and, as a natural gas supplier, our company has sent numerous notifications that demanded the payment of debts. We express our confidence that Colterm and Timisoara will identify a viable debt solution, in line with the obligations assumed under the signed conventions,” reads the response to energynomics.ro’s request.

E.On ceased supply of natural gas to Colterm, the heating company in Timisoara, after the payment of the debt of about seven million lei were exceeded. The measure might have been affecting more than 60,000 subscribers who could have missed hot water.
