Since entering the Romanian market in 2005, more than 8,290 km of natural gas network have been modernized (about 50% of the total length of the network taken over at privatization) and about 6,450 km of electricity network, an E.ON. press release states. The natural gas distribution network was extended to a length of 1,795 km, and the electricity distribution network was extended to a length of about 2,350 km, facilitating the connection of new consumers.

“In all those years we have faced many challenges and we have become stronger. We have transformed the companies taken over into modern customer-oriented companies and we have doubled the value of the business, so that in 2019 the consolidated turnover reached almost 1.3 billion euro,” said Manfred Paasch, General Manager of E.ON Romania.

Currently, the company provides electricity and gas for over 3.2 million customers, with about 650,000 more than it had in its portfolio in 2005. E.ON is the first integrated supplier and also the first integrated distributor of natural gas and electricity and provides energy and natural gas in over 3,600 localities. The E.ON balance sheet includes 8,290 km of upgraded natural gas pipelines, 90% of the power stations integrated in SCADA and a 2.3 billion euro contribution to the budget in the form of taxes and fees.
