PSD President Liviu Dragnea announced on Saturday that in the second part of the month the Government could adopt an emergency ordinance to complement the “Greed Ordinance”, acceptable to the Executive and to all stakeholders in the banking, energy and telco sectors.

“We have had meetings with the banks lately, and things have advanced to a solution that has been accepted by both parties, as we do not give up our goals that generated the GEO 114. We are interested that the banking system invests more in the Romanian economy, supports economic development. Together we thought of a mechanism to stimulate this, also starting from the idea that there is still a very large difference between (interest for) loans and deposits of the population,” Dragnea said, according to Adevarul.

“Considerable steps can be taken if we meet the guidelines we have been considering, namely better lending conditions for businesses and individuals, the level of financial intermediation to grow, banks to invest more in economic growth.”

Thus, next week, the PSD-ALDE coalition is to discuss with Prime Minister Viorica Dancila and the ministers of the respective areas “a possible ordinance to complement the 114 ordinance in these areas.”
