Deloitte Romania promotes Farrukh Khan as audit Partner-in-Charge

Deloitte Romania is pleased to announce the appointment of Farrukh Khan as the Partner-in-charge for Audit and Enterprise Risk Services (AERS) and the appointment three new Directors. Farrukh Khan is an experienced audit partner who is currently leading Deloitte’s CE Energy & Resources industry practice and has now assumed the responsibilities as Partner-in-Charge AERS.

Furthermore, as a result of a rigorous performance-based promotion process, starting with September 1st, 2015, Paula Lavric (Enterprise Risk Services – ERS), Irina Dobre (Audit) and Carmen Baibarac (HR) will be promoted Director within Deloitte Romania and will join the local leadership team.

Farrukh Khan_partener coordonator AERS DeloitteFarrukh Khan (photo) has been with Deloitte for more than 18 years. He joined Deloitte in Singapore, and later became part of Deloitte Romania’s team. Farrukh is an experienced audit partner, with vast international expertise, having serviced companies in UK, Asia Pacific (Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia), Central and Eastern Europe (Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova, Albania, Kosovo, Croatia and Slovakia). He currently leads Deloitte’s CE Energy &Resources industry practice. As Partner-in-Charge AERS, Farrukh’s focus will include strengthening the current Partner/Directors team by leading a business development program and ensuring team development at all levels.

Also, Deloitte promotes three new Directors

As Director of the Risk Services team in Deloitte Romania, Paula Lavric’s focus is on anticorruption, fraud and AML risk assessments, investigations, developing policies and procedures and training in anticorruption, Anti-Money Laundering, Countering Financial Terrorism and economics and financial crimes. Prior to joining Deloitte, Paula has served as a Chief Prosecutor and she was also a Senior Member of the Board of the Financial Intelligence Unit in Romania (National Office for Prevention and Controlling Money Laundering). Paula holds a Bachelor of Law from the Bucharest University and a Master in International Relations and Diplomacy. Also she holds an International Diploma on Financial Crime Prevention from the International Compliance Association in association with Manchester University Business School.

Irina Dobre specializes in financial services industry and has ten years of professional experience in financial audits and business advisory with Deloitte. Her current responsibilities include the coordination of audit teams, as well as audit advisory services for projects in Romania, with focus on financial services industry. Irina’s specialty is in audits of financial services entities such as investment funds, banks, leasing companies and other non-banking financial institutions. She is a member of the technical working groups created at Finance Ministry, Financial Supervisory Authority and CAFR level, to discuss and develop the accounting norms applied in Romania. Irina holds a Bachelor of Economics from the Academy of Economic Studies and she is a member of Association of Certified Chartered Accountants in UK (ACCA) and CAFR.

Carmen Baibarac has joined Deloitte in 2012 in a Senior Manager role as leader of the Human Resources Department. With over 14 years of professional experience in the Human Resources area, Carmen has spent the past 10 years in various HR managerial roles, working with local and Central European leadership teams. While her formal training is in Learning & Development, her experience covers most of the core HR areas: performance management, talent management, compensation and benefits, organizational development and resourcing. Carmen holds a BA degree in Romanian and English and is an accredited Executive Coach with the Academy of Executive Coaching in the UK.
