The Competition Council has authorized the transaction by which Socar Petroleum intends to assume the right of use on six fuel distribution stations, currently operated by Aral.

The six fuel distribution stations, located in Arad, Timiș and Sibiu counties, are to be operated by Socar on the basis of a rental contract, the authority announced.

Socar Petroleum S.A., a company belonging to the Socar group, operates mainly in the fuel market, both in the retail segment and in the wholesale segment and has a national gas station network.

Following the analysis, the Competition Council found that this operation does not raise significant obstacles to effective competition on the Romanian market or a substantial part of it and that there are no serious doubts about its compatibility with a normal competitive environment.
