Municipal councilors have approved on Thursday the capital increase at Energetica and new subsidies for RADET, sources from the General Council of the Bucharest City (CGMB) told energynomics.ro.

As result of the vote, ELCEN will receive 1.2 billion lei through capital increase at the new-established company Energetica, which will “swallow” the two merged energy companies.

After this increase, Energetica’s capital ups to 1.56 billion lei. According to the substantiation note, the amount of ROL 1.26 billion is required to pay claims held by ELCEN creditors in a total amount of ROL 1.077 billion.

Also, ELCEN will receive 184.8 million lei representing the value of some investments and stocks.

“By the capital increase of CMEB SA (Energetica, e.n.), the basis of the SACET concept is put in place, it is possible to access the available funding lines on European funds made available by the European Commission for the modernization of the thermal energy supply and transport, which will lead to the reduction costs and recovery of the investment”, the document says.

At the same time, the councilors of the City Hall voted today to grant new subsidies to RADET, worth over 80 million lei, in two installments. The first tranche of 43 million lei was approved at the current meeting, with the remainder of the money – which will cover losses from the previous years, to be granted at the next meeting of the CGMB.
