(Română) Asociaţia Română a Electricienilor – AREL - a luat fiinţă în anul 2008 ca asociaţie profesională, non-profit, neguvernamentală, constituită de persoane fizice ce activează în domeniul electric, funcţionarea ei fiind reglementată de Ordonanţa Guvernului nr.26/2000 cu privire la asociaţii şi fundaţii, cu modificările şi completările ulterioare, precum şi de prevederile prezentului statut.
În prezent Asociaţia Română a Electricienilor are peste 300 de membri, având sucursale în Craiova, Arad, Galaţi, Hunedoara, Bacău, Constanţa.
Prin activitatea ei, Asociaţia urmăreşte promovarea, reprezentarea, susţinerea şi apărarea intereselor profesionale comune ale membrilor săi, precum şi îmbunătăţirea continuă a activităţii prin elaborarea de programe de perfecţionare şi specializare în domeniu.
